Proximate Char Analysis

Brown coal contains high levels of volatiles and is more than 60% moisture. After being briquetted, the brown coal is heated to 900°C in two vertical retorts, driving off the volatiles and remaining moisture. The resulting processed char is high in fixed carbon, low in volatiles and ash, and low in impurities.

  • Fixed Carbon: 93-95%
  • Ash: 4% maximum
  • Volatiles: 2-5%
  • Low Impurities

Australian Char has capacity to meet your special requirements for trace elements.
